Monday Night Vernon Toastmasters began in March 1997 as Positive Living Toastmasters.

The club will celebrate its successful 25 years as a club with an in-person Burger Bar dinner Monday, June 6, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the newly opened 1516 Pub and Grill (formerly The Outboard, 7673 Okanagan Landing Road).

The club, says current vice-president of education-membership Jackie Lowrie, has lived up to its mission to be “a supportive and positive learning environment for members to develop communication and leadership skills which fosters self-confidence and personal growth.”

“Present and former members have sung the praises of Toastmasters to help them to face their fear of public speaking or to help them find their voice, and to help them become confident leaders in our communities,” said Lowrie. “I would like to thank all past and present members for their continued support; without it Monday Night Vernon Toastmasters would not be as vibrant and sustaining as it is.”

The celebration planning committee would like to extend an invitation to present members, former members, friends and guests of Monday Night Vernon Toastmasters #6884 to join in the celebration. There will be a silent auction, raffle and an evening of Toastmasters fun.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased via e-transfer to masters@telus.net before May 27.

For more information about the event contact Lowrie at 250-558-5526 or email jaclow@telus.net.
