Vernon’s Village Green Centre, along with Aaron’s Furniture, has graciously stepped up to help the Vernon Women’s Transition House with a newly equipped kitchen.
Now, the local retail partners are seeking the help of the community to stock the kitchen for this very important cause.
Shoppers can make a donation of non-perishable food in one of the specially marked Harvest with a Heart Apple Bins located in the mall.
Cash donations will also be accepted on weekends at guest services until Oct. 22 and delivered to the Vernon Women’s Transition House shortly thereafter.
Among the appliances delivered to the house are a brand new fridge/freezer and stove, valued at more than $3,500.
The new Fridgidaire appliances were delivered to the society on Sept. 14, and replaced the current appliances which were in serious disrepair.
