Visual and culinary arts are about to meld when the ninth annual Art and Wine Gala takes place at Eclectic Med restaurant Feb. 25.
In support of the North Okanagan Community Life Society (NOCLS), the atmosphere and aromas will have mouths watering, while local art will provide a visual feast.
“We have local 15 artists who have donated pieces as well as 41 baskets up for auction,” said NOCLS executive director Garry Molitwenik. “Monashee’s, Vernon Square and Village Green liquor stores have donated the wine.”
On the six-course menu, prepared by Eclectic Med owners Dawn and Andrew Fradley, includes a main of certified organic purebred Berkshire pork, which is pasture raised by Wildmoon Organics in Armstrong. Dessert will feature a panettone bread and butter pudding served with a taste of late harvest riesling donated by Larch Hills Winery.
Each course will be paired with an Okanagan wine.
Presiding over the auction is Bob Woodman of Dodds Auction, while Vernon singer-songwriter Betty Johnson is performing her jazz, blues and roots inspired music.
“Transportation will be provided for all our guests to get home safely,” added Molitwenik.
Tickets for the Feb. 25 event, which starts at 5:30 p.m. with refreshments, are $125 per person and can be purchased at the Eclectic Med, 2915 30th Ave., Designers Gallery or by calling Molitwenik at 250-545-5153.
