On Sunday, June 4, Loki’s restaurant in downtown Penticton is going to the dogs.
Loki’s Garage is hosting its first-ever Lucky’s and Loki’s Barking Lot party from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“Everyone and their dog should be there,” said Loki’s and Lucky’s Pet Supply.
The restaurant is hosting its brunch menu on their dog-friendly patio and turning the parking into a barking lot which will play host to beer and bone broth tastings, freebies, Tin Whistle peach cream ale tastings for the humans, doggy bags, and a caricature artist coming in to draw portraits of people and their pets for a donation to Critteraid.
They also have a big Foosball-air hockey pool table that is being raffled off and a big ice cooler stand for $2 tickets with proceeds to Critteraid. Lucky’s will also be doing $15 nail trims with half the proceeds going to Critteraid.
“I’ve always wanted to have a ‘Barking Lot Party’ but our parking lot is always much too busy and it just so happens that Loki’s has a huge awesome parking lot,” said Lucky’s owner Chrystina Barnard. “It should be a good time.”
Barnard said it was actually Luke Walsh of Loki’s that approached her about hosting a fun dog-friendly summertime event and the two decided on the Barking Lot Party with partial proceeds to Critteraid.
“Our patio has always been dog friendly and we love having them, to the point servers will fight over who gets to serve them,” said Walsh.
“Chrystina and the team at Lucky’s have always been great community leaders so it was a natural fit to have them sponsor our dog friendly patio.”
