Dress up in your best flapper or dapper outfit and get ready for an evening of fun, as the Caetani Centre gets transformed to the Roaring ‘20s, to host the Great Gatsby Splash.
The 1920s was when the Caetani family first settled into Vernon. It was also a time of opulent costume, and those attending the event are encouraged to come clad in sequins, feathers, pearls and fedoras.
A cocktail hour will be provided by Okanagan Spirits, which will be concocting three different cocktails from the 1920s, including the Bee’s Knees, made with Okanagan Spirits handcrafted gin, fresh lemon juice and a dash of honey.
There will also be a catered dinner buffet, live entertainment by the Voix Du Couer Ensemble, along with a live art auction.
“All funds raised will be going back towards the Centre, into our garden revitilazation project,” said Megan Glassar, an archivist and curatorial assistant with the Centre.
AJ Jaeger, Ann Willsie, David Powter and Charley Hampton are just some of the talented Okanagan artists who will have their artwork up for sale.
The event will take place on Saturday, June 24 from 4-9:30 p.m.
“This is the first time doing a Gatsby party, and we can’t wait to see so many people out for a night of fun,” said Avneet Baines, marketing assistant.
You can purchase tickets at ticketseller.ca. It is $150 per person, or $1,200 for a table of eight.
