Set in the home and gardens of Argentine-born artist Carolina Sanchez de Bustamante, Ashpa Naira means “fired earth” in the quechua/Inca language.

The studio is where two traditional South American art forms are practised, including the design and creation of 3D woven tapestries, using South American iconography in a diverse selection of colour fibres. In the clay studio, sculptures, architectural ceramics and handmade art tiles are created by Sanchez de Bustamante. Guests can view ceramic art work in progress, as well as accomplished pieces in the studio gallery.

ARTE funktional—Ashpa Naira Studio is open Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. or by appointment.
