The driver in a hit and run over the weekend didn’t just leave the scene, they left their truck behind too.
Police were called to a crash where a black Ford truck had hit a car parked in the 1000 block of Mt. Ida Drive Sunday, April 14 at 12:15 a.m.
“The responding officers found the truck abandoned in the roadway and in speaking to witnesses, learned the driver of the truck left the scene moments after the collision and before police arrived,” said Const. Chris Terleski, Vernon North Okanagan RCMP media relations officer.
No injuries were reported.
The owner of the truck was identified and issued a violation ticket for failing to remain under the Motor Vehicle Act.
