Eastbound drivers are warned to expect delays along a 6.9km stretch of Highway 97A next week as AIM Roads is conducting a geotechnical investigation between Hutchison Road in Mara to Davidson Road just south of Sicamous.

Drivers heading east next week should expect delays on Highway 97A between Mara and Sicamous.

In a social media post on May 15, AIM Roads announced a geotechnical investigation planned for the 6.9 kilometre stretch between Hutchison Road near the start of Mara Lake, and Davidson Drive in Swansea Point south Sicamous.

Work won’t affect travel over the May long weekend as it starts on Tuesday, May 21 and will run until Friday, May 24 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on all four days. Single lane alternating traffic will be in effect, but AIM warns drivers to expect “lengthy delays.”

They encourage people to use detour available via Highway 97B at Grindrod through to Highway 1 at Salmon Arm.
