Multi-vehicle crash slows traffic on Highway 97 in Vernon

Traffic down to one lane; emergency services on scene

A crash involving at least two vehicles has stalled traffic on Highway 97 in Vernon on Friday afternoon, March 15.

Traffic has been reduced to one lane in both directions near the intersection of 48th Avenue and 32nd Street, after emergency crews responded to the incident at around 1:40 p.m.

RCMP, ambulance and Vernon fire crews are currently on scene.

There is significant congestion on and around 48th and 43rd avenues due to detouring motorists. Traffic is also blocked going west on 48th.

A tire and one vehicle involved blocked the middle of the intersection while there were four other vehicles pulled over on the highway.
