It’s been almost a month and 83-year-old Robert Baines is still missing.

Baines was last seen at his residence on Ponderosa Way in Coldstream early in the morning of Jan. 2, 2024 and has not been heard from since.

Search and Rescue crews have combed the area extensively, including the nearby Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park.

RCMP have no new information since Baines’ disappearance.

“Unfortunately Mr. Baines is still missing and we do not have any additional information at this time,” said Const. Chris Terleski, Vernon North Okanagan RCMP media relations officer.

Baines was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and may appear confused or disoriented if approached.

He is described as five-foot-nine-inches tall, weighs approximately 200 pounds and is bald with brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a green Tilly hat, green jacket, grey undershirt, blue jeans and white hiking shoes.
