Penticton and Vernon are the latest communities to get another option when it comes to ordering food delivery.

As of Nov. 15, Uber Eats has started deliveries in the two cities, with another eight cities added across the province.

To celebrate coming to Penticton and Vernon, Uber Eats is waving delivery fees for eligible eateries for a short time.

To start ordering, you have to download the Uber Eats app and either sign in with an existing Uber account or create a new one.

The food delivery branch of the popular ride-sharing business came to the Okanagan and Kelowna in 2021, and has since steadily expanded.

According to the press release from Uber Eats, 44 per cent of Canadians reported that they’ve used delivery apps for food or other essential items, with 47 per cent of Uber Eats users having ordered groceries in the last year.

The service also offers delivery for cannabis and alcohol in B.C. and Ontario, with a number of merchants signed on with the platform.
