UPDATE: Power restored for more than 3,600 Vernon residents

Update: 7:30 p.m.

The power outage affecting 3,629 BC Hydro residents has ended, with BC Hydro crews restoring power shortly before 7:30 p.m.

The cause of the outage was a bird contacting wires, BC Hydro reports.

Power has been knocked out for more than 3,600 Vernon residents.

BC Hydro reports there is a power outage east of South Silversage Lane, north of Mission Road, west of Bodwell Road and south of Desert Drive.

The outage, which started at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, affects 3,629 BC Hydro customers.

The cause of the outage is under investigation. Crews have not yet been assigned, according to BC Hydro’s outage map.

The outage in the Okanagan Landing area affects the exact same number of residents and is in the same area as another power outage that took place Friday night, March 22.
