Revelstoke Mountain Resort (RMR) is wrapping up its ski and snowboarding season this weekend, April 13 and 14.
While ski resorts across B.C. experienced milder than usual winter, RMR communications manager, Laura Meggs said that the mountain “had a great season when we look back on it.”
Meggs attributes their successful season to their team. Some of the highlights from the RMR season include its second year hosting the Natural Selections Tour.

RMR also hosted the International Free Skiers Association (IFSA) sanctioned Freeride World Tour (FWT).
“It’s a really great event that supports young skiers and riders coming up in the free ride world,” said Meggs.

Other events included the Rail Jam series which faced problems with the weather, but was able to pivot with two smaller scale events. The King and Queen event was also changed to one day in the park. Meggs noted that one of the skiers did a double front flip which wowed the crowd.
Meggs also said that RMR was able to expand the beginner and intermediate terrain on the mountain by adding a surface lift in the Stellar zone, increasing lift capacity on the Ripper Chair, and widening the intermediate terrain on the Ripper side.
The last event of the year will be closing day which will be on April, 14.
“It’s a great day to get out on the hill and celebrate with friends,” added Meggs.
Skiers and riders tend to celebrate the last weekend on the slopes by sporting retro ski attire.
The last après of the season will take place from 3-6 p.m. at the Paul Mair Plaza and will feature Whistler-based DJ and production duo, SkiiTour.
