The Vernon Vipers and head coach Jason McKee have mutually agreed to part ways, the team announced on March 16.
McKee, who also served as the club’s general manager, had been behind the Vipers’ bench since 2019-2020.
Lukas Lomicky and Colton Sparrow will continue as coaches for the remainder of the season, team officials said.
“The organization would like to thank Jason for his contributions and efforts during his tenure with the organization,” a statement from the Vipers reads. “The Vipers would like to wish Jason all the best in his future endeavors.”
Vernon owns a 28-19-1-0 record this season and sits fourth in the Interior Conference.
Since starting the year 14-5, the Vipers have played to sub-.500 win percentage.
McKee leaves as the team gears up for the BCHL Playoffs, which begin April 5.
After Vernon hosts Naniamo and Alberni Valley at Kal Tire Place on March 16 and 17, the team will have four games remaining in its regular-season schedule.
