Businesses in Armstrong-Spallumcheen and Enderby are being asked how things are going.

Business walks will be held in both communities as a way of determining issues of importance to local entrepreneurs.

“The questions we will be discussing will enable us to capture the pulse of the business community,” said Patti Noonan, Armstrong-Spallumcheen Chamber of Commerce manager.

The Armstrong-Spallumcheen chamber will hold a business walk Oct. 20 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. in the city and in the Spallumcheen Industrial Park.

“We will use the results to help identify action themes for future business growth development,” said Noonan.

If a business is not located in downtown Armstrong or in the industrial park, contact the chamber so it can arrange a time to complete the questionnaire. Call 250-546-8155 or e-mail

In Enderby, city council will take to the streets Oct. 26 from 9 to 11:30 a.m.

“A business walk is a great way to take the pulse of local businesses,” said Mayor Greg McCune.

“A big part of this is helping connect businesses with services available through the city, Community Futures and our chamber of commerce.”

Business owners will be asked a set of questions which will give information about the local economy and opportunities to grow or sustain business.

“Business Walks provide an opportunity for a conversation with business owners and help to capture the pulse of the business climate,” said Leigha Horsfield, with Community Futures.
