UPDATE: Beloved pooch found safe

Ellie Mae the bulldog has been found safe after she was stolen with a truck on Saturday

UPDATE: June 25 9 p.m.

Ellie Mae the bulldog has been found safe and sound.

While details are still coming in, her owners report she has been found.

The dog was stolen with the family’s truck in Oliver on Saturday.

The family says a group of volunteers located Ellie Mae, who was found loose.

“They found her by the Fairview Golf Course laying under a tree. I think she was dropped on the side of the road yesterday afternoon,” says owner Kristy Russell.

“The support we have received is beyond amazing, so overwhelming. So many offers of help, so many kind messages, offers of advertising, so many amazing news stories, and donations. So much kindness and so, so much love! We are so very thankful to have our girl back.”

The family had recently offered a $5,000 reward for her safe return, but it was not needed.

UPDATE: June 25

Ellie Mae the bulldog is still missing and her family is distraught.

Tania Masin is a cousin to the dog owners and took to Facebook to update those looking for the dog, as well as clear up some misconceptions.

The dog’s family is actually from Prince George, but were vacationing in Oliver when their truck was stolen.

The truck was running with the air conditioning on for the dog when the alleged thieves jumped in and took off with truck and Ellie Mae.

The photo below is a close approximate photo of the stolen 2015 Grey Nissan Titan, plate KW 8890, that was taken.

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Ellie Mae or the truck is asked to contact their local RCMP or the dog’s owner at 250-613-0198.

To make the nightmare even worse #Facebook has just banned my cousin's account because of so many postings. Please share…
