Bomb threat at airport a hoax

The RCMP, YLW administration and Transport Canada have deemed the threat to the Kelowna International Airport is non-credible

UPDATE 12:30: The RCMP and other emergency services agencies are now clearing from the scene at the Kelowna International Airport, as the bomb threat received has been deemed not credible.

"The RCMP wish to thank the public and the media for their patience and assistance while they investigate this matter," said Cst. Jesse O'Donaghey.

"The RCMP also wish to extend their gratitude to the administration and employees of YLW for their assistance and quick response to this dynamic incident."

"The airport remains open. The airport remains business as usual," said Const. Jesse O'Donaghey.

The RCMP are responding Monday morning to Kelowna International Airport after a bomb threat naming the facility as a target was received.

The public is asked to avoid the area to allow emergency crews to investigate.

"The Kelowna RCMP along with YLW administration are continuing to assess the incident," said Const. Jesse O'Donaghey.

"The airport remains business as usual."
