Although not uncommon at this time of year, as they fatten up before hibernation, some bears sightings have prompted caution at a local elementary school.
BX Elementary recently advised parents and students that as bear sighting continue they should keep an eye out and be cautious at bus stops.
"These sightings have been at L&A Rd & Baker Hogg Rd," a BX Elementary notice to parents reads. "There have been sightings of a mother bear and her two cubs."
A grizzly bear was also spotted in Enderby Tuesday going after fruit, according to the Wildlife Alert Reporting Program of Wild Safe BC. W.A.R.P. also shows that a bobcat was spotted Oct. 10 behind Alexis Park Drive.
