Secondary suites and backyard chickens could be coming to a Coldstream home near you.
The district is investigating the possibility of allowing suites and hens and will be hiring a consultant to examine the issues.
“We want to look at these items,” said Mayor Jim Garlick.
Among the areas being looked at are a secondary suite policy, which would include off-street parking no less than what is required for a duplex, and short-term housing rentals
There will also be a review of hens in urban areas together with a licensing/permitting scheme, minimum lot size requirement and regulation on the location of a coop.
