After three people were reported missing, Saturday afternoon, the West Kelowna Fire Department and Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) were called in to search the area of Bear Creek Provincial Park at about 1p.m.

The three men were last seen along the outlook fence close to the Bear Creek Canyon Waterfalls.

Fire crews and COSAR conducted a search of the whole area, including the falls and creek. The fire department used drones as part of their search.

Both the fire department and COSAR completed their search and found nothing but believe the three people self-rescued and left the scene safely before emergency crews arrived.

With the hot weather and snow melt, creeks and falls are elevated and moving faster, making it more dangerous for people nearby.
