Three-year-old Veronica Lee visits with Santa Claus while he poses for a painting being done at Santa’s Workshop in Enderby by Heather Edwards.

Santa’s Workshop in Enderby is in full swing and people have until Monday to bring in donations for the shopping sprees.

The workshop is seeking new and gently used items that young people can give to the people on their Christmas lists — parents, siblings, grandparents, teachers and other loved ones.

“Volunteers are busy cleaning, mending, repairing, organizing and boxing up donations in preparation for the Kids Only Shopping Sprees, where kids up to age 12 can shop for gifts with help from the elves who keep them on budget and on task,” said Kate Fulton, organizer.

“The kids then have their gifts wrapped and leave with their surprises.”

Among the items needed is jewelry.

The Kids Only Shopping Spree is Dec. 2 from 1 to 5 p.m. and Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There is also the Seniors Shopping Spree Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the Teen and Adult Shopping Spree Dec. 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The workshop is open for donations Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 907 Belvedere St.

“Proceeds from the shopping events go toward local non-profit organizations and initiatives aiding children and families,” said Fulton.
