A man facing firearm and aggravated assault charges will have to wait until after the holidays for his judicial interim release hearing.
Derek Ryan Baptiste, born 1983, was beamed into Vernon Law Courts via video link for a brief application hearing Wednesday, Dec. 6 where defence lawyer Jonathon Avis asked Justice of the Peace Dalene Krenz to move the file to Dec. 27 at 10:30 a.m.
Baptiste is charged with one count each of unlawfully discharging a firearm, aggravated assault and use of a firearm committing an indictable offence. Court documents indicate an offence date of Jan. 6, 2018.
None of the charges against Baptiste have been proven in court.
