Residents of the Okanagan-Shuswap woke up to bits of sunshine and temperatures of -7 C with the windchill on Christmas Day.
Environment Canada had not been calling for snow for Dec. 25, making the holiday a green Christmas instead of a favourable white one.
Near Osoyoos almost 2 cm of snow could fall with wind gusting between 40 km/h to 60. Temperature steady near plus 1.
Revelstoke is also forecast to receive 2 cm of snow overnight with wind gusting to 15 km/hr.
Kelowna, Vernon and Salmon Arm are anticipated to receive light snow overnight, turning to flurries on Boxing Day, with a high of plus 2 C.
