Items still sought for fire victims

The Salvation Army continues to collect items for the people impacted by the Feb. 25 apartment fire.

A warehouse/distribution centre has been established at the former Coopers building on 43rd Avenue.

“We are still in need of kitchen tables and chairs, couches and chairs, box spring and mattress sets with frames, coffee and end tables, dressers and lamps,” said David MacBain, community ministries director.

Presently, there is not a need for clothing, kitchen items and TVs.

Cash donations for the victims of the Skyline Manor apartment fire can be made at the Salvation Army at 3303 32nd Ave. or by going to www.vernonbcfoodbank.com.

Donations can also be made at the Red Cross, 2809 44th Ave., or at Valley First, VantageOne and Interior Savings credit unions.
