Man safely pulled from channel

A friend reportedly jumped into action to pull him free

A friend was at the right place at the right time.

A young man fell in the Okanagan River Channel near the bridge on Green Mountain Road Tuesday just after 6 p.m.

A police officer was about 200 to 300 metres south of Green Mountain Road, where he met up with the young men.

A Penticton RCMP officer noted that the man was going to live, adding that the friend was able to save his life by pulling him out.

Ambulance arrived on scene to treat the young man.
