A new ozone generator will replace an aging unit at the Vernon Recreation Complex pool.
The facility was closed March 30 following procedures to lower chlorine levels in the pool that may cause eye and skin irritation.
“City staff have consulted with Interior Health and verified that chlorine levels at the aquatic centre are within accepted health standards,” said Tanya Laing Gahr, the city’s communications officer.
“The ozone generator assists in the management of chloramine levels and will improve the secondary disinfection system.”
