PHOTOS: Annual Easter egg hunt kept kids hopping in Sicamous

The March 30 event included face painting, crafts, cookie decorating and games

Things were hopping at the Sicamous Recreation Department’s annual Easter Egg Hunt, with a variety of activities that went beyond the eggshell.

A large turnout filled Finlayson Park Saturday morning (Mar. 30) with kids of all ages zig-zagging between different craft stations, including brown bag bunnies and button making. There was also face painting and cookie decorating, with kids facing an obvious dilemma between just eating the candy and actually putting it on the cookie. The struggle was real.

To help burn off some of that sugar buzz, there was also ladder golf and cornhole games.

The morning then culminated in the main event, the egg hunt. Recreation and events manager Jamie Sherlock organized the kids by age, with ages 0-2 off and running first at 10:30, followed by ages 3-5, then 6-9 and finally 10 and up. The goal for kids was to find three brightly coloured, plastic eggs, which they then cashed in for a goodie bag, thereby ensuring that it was “even-steven.”
