A summer campaign will help local residents in need.
Floating for a Cause will serve up Papa Murphy’s pizza by donation to the Upper Room Mission in July and Vernon Women’s Transition House in August.
“We are asking the generous boating community to help support these worthwhile causes,” said Stan and Val Morris, of Papa Murphy’s in Vernon.
“Look for the Floating for a Cause pontoon boat on select dates.”
Confirmed dates on Kal Lake include July 2 and 3, July 12, July 16, July 24, July 31, Aug. 5, Aug. 13 and 14, Aug. 21, Aug. 28 and Sept. 4.
Along with Papa Murphy’s the sponsors include Bannister Honda and Sun FM.
“Stan and I came up with this new idea about a year ago, and we are really looking forward to helping out these worthwhile charities in their time of need,” said Pat Loehndorf, with Bannister Honda.
“We’re always looking for new and exciting ways to help out our local charities,” added Brian Martin, with Sun FM.
