Public assistance sought after Vernon gas station robbed

Vernon RCMP are seeking an individual who allegedly robbed a gas station July 26.

Vernon RCMP are asking for public assistance after a gas station was robbed.

At about 9:15 p.m. July 26, a man entered the Petro Canada on 25th Avenue, produced what appeared to be a handgun and stole an undisclosed amount of money and merchandise.

"The man then fled on foot," said Cst. Jocelyn Noseworthy.


"Police were on scene within minutes of the crime but the suspect was not located."


There were no customers in the store when this incident occurred.

"The adult female employee, while not physically harmed, was left shaken by the ordeal," said Noseworthy.

The suspect is described as Caucasian and in his mid 20s, with brown hair and a thin build. He was wearing a Blue Jays baseball cap, a dark jacket, black sweatpants and multi-coloured shoes.
