Spring has sprung and so have thieves prying into vehicles.

Now that the snow is melting, and spring has officially arrived, people are venturing into parks and recreational areas.

So, too, are criminals.

“We remind the public not to leave valuables in your vehicle when you leave it,” said Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy.

“Every year we receive numerous reports of wallets, electronics, money and other expensive items that were left in cars in recreational parking areas and that have been stolen.”

Noseworthy said the detachment has already received a number of reports of such thefts.

“Please ensure all valuables are removed and your vehicle is locked up,” said Noseworthy.
