Ministry of Transportation officials expect Highway 97 at the bottom of Hospital Hill in Vernon to be fully operational by 2 p.m. Friday.
Crews have been working on the highway to repair a sinkhole that appeared late Tuesday afternoon.
“We’re just in some of the final clean-up stages,” said Okanagan-Shuswap MoT district manager Jack Bennetto shortly after 11 a.m. Friday.
The highway was closed for several hours after the hole appeared, and reopened overnight Wednesday. It has been operating with traffic control ever since, but the full four lanes have not been open since Tuesday.
