Charges are not anticipated in the fire sparked at an Enderby school

Charges are not anticipated in the fire sparked at an Enderby school.

A.L. Fortune Secondary School was evacuated April 8 and school was cancelled the following Monday after a fire broke out.

“The suspect was identified and we’re dealing with it with the school,” said Cst. Jocelyn Noseworthy, RCMP spokesperson.

“I anticipate that the charges won’t be forwarded in this matter.”

A student has been identified and discipline will be handled by the school district.

The Youth Criminal Justice Act uses a series of measures outside the court process which can provide effective responses to less serious youth crime.
