Details have been released for an NHL pre-season game in the North Okanagan.
The Los Angeles Kings and Edmonton Oilers will hit the ice at Vernon's Kal Tire Place Oct. 2 while a practice session will also be held the same day as part of Lumby being named Kraft Hockeyville.
"Tickets will be distributed by way of a supervised public draw which will take place at the Lumby Chamber of Commerce," said Angie Clowry, with the local organizing committee.
"The public is invited to come in person to submit a ballot for a chance to win two tickets to the game or practice."
The public draws will be held Aug. 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Aug. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Aug. 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Aug. 31 from 10 a,m. to 2 p.m.
"There will be two public draws for tickets to practice session and pre-season game," said Clowry.
"Everyone is welcome to enter. However, photo identification will be required to confirm eligibility with the draw guidelines."
The residents’ draw is for residents of the Village of Lumby and Regional District of North Okanagan Areas D and E (as determined by one piece of documentation, with postal code, demonstrating residency) who are 19 years old and over on the date of entry. The residents’ draw” will consist of 617 ballots drawn, representing 1,234 tickets for the pre-season game and 716 ballots drawn, representing 1,432 individual tickets, to the practice session.
The supporters' draw is for anyone 19 years old and over on the date of entry, regardless of their place of residence. The supporters’ draw” will consist of 155 ballots drawn, representing 310 tickets for the pre-season game and 179 ballots drawn, representing 358 individual tickets, to the practice session.
Each eligible entrant may only submit one ballot in either ballot box marked for residents or for supporters, not both.
"The draw date is Sept. 20t, with winners posted Sept. 22 on the Vote for Lumby to be Kraft Hockeyville 2016 Facebook page," said Clowry.
The practice session will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the game is at 6 p.m.
