Vernon transit rides the web

Vernon transit customers now have a tool for better planned trips

B.C. Transit Trip Planner now has Vernon’s transit system live on their website, which is a tool for their customers to access schedule and route information with the power of Google Maps.

By typing in a trip orgin, destination, date and time of departure or desired arrival, the most direct bus routes will be calculated.

Last year, B.C. transit provided over 445,000 passengers a trip in Vernon, and with the introduction to the B.C. Transit Trip Planner, the system hopes to encourage growth in their ridership.

The live online system wants to prove that public transportation is a convienient and reliable alternative to single occupancy vehicles.
