Vernon shipped defenceman Griffin James to the Burlington Cougars of the Ontario Junior Hockey League in exchange for future considerations.

“Griffin wanted an opportunity to play closer to home and we were able to make that happen,” said Vipers head coach and general manager Mark Ferner. We thank him for his contribution to the team and wish him the best of luck moving forward.”

James, 18, a native of Aurora, Ont., had three goals and three assists in 35 games played with the Vipers, along with 34 penalty minutes.
