Surrounded by family, Ailsa passed away peacefully on February 4, 2020 at the North Okanagan Hospice in Vernon, BC. She was 79.
She was born in Maryborough QLD, Australia on October 12, 1940. In her 20s, while travelling the world with friends, she met her Canadian spouse, Bruce, on a cruise ship. After they were married in 1969, she immigrated to Canada where they settled in Vernon, BC.
Later in life she returned to college and embarked on a new career as a long term care aide at the Gateby, where she made many close lifelong friends.
Ailsa is survived by her husband Bruce, daughter Shannon, son Regan, step-daughters Tracy, Kim and Rona, as well as six grandchildren (Kirsten, Adam, Joshua, Serenity, Remington and Savannah). She is also remembered by numerous nieces and nephews and special friends in both Canada and Australia. She is preceded in death by parents Len and Pearl Witt and Sister Joan Langer.
Ailsa was buried at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Vernon, BC on February 11, 2020. A celebration of life will be held at a later date for all who wish to attend in Ailsa's memory.
