In loving memory ~

Alexander Danny, age 98, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving children on March 12, 2024. He was a cherished father and grandfather, known for his warmth, independence, and unwavering love for his family.

Born in Nemti, Hungary, Alexander immigrated to Canada as a child. However, the upheavals of World War II led him back to Hungary, where he found himself serving under Major Lyburn of The Durham Light Infantry near the end of the war.

After the war, Alex returned to Canada, where he built a life filled with dedication to his community and family. He married the woman who would become his lifelong best friend, Dorothea Biernacki, and together they raised three beautiful children.

Throughout his working years, Alex worked as an appliance repairman for Sears, where he honed his skills and earned the respect of his colleagues and customers alike. His dedication to his craft was evident in the quality of his work and the pride he took in his profession.

In his free time, Alexander found joy in simple pleasures, such as tending to his garden, feeding his squirrels, and enjoying sweets.

Alex will be deeply missed by his three children, Alex, Louise, and Linda and his four grandchildren, Natalie, Paul, Bryce and Cadey, who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.

A celebration of Alexander's life will be held on April 10th at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Parish in Ladner, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to World Vision Canada in Alexander's honour.

Though he may be gone from our sight, Alexander Danny's spirit will continue to live on in the cherished memories he leaves behind. May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
