In Loving Memory ~

It is with great sadness that we announce the journey of Alfred Lawrence Sterling has come to an end.

Big Al was born on Jan 24, 1940, in Saskatoon, SK and left us on Feb 17, 2024. Al lived with his Uncle Burt and Aunt Pat until he was 16 when he left for Chilliwack to join the Sappers Apprentice 5th Intake until 1963, spending 4 years in Germany.

His many friends and family will remember his love of telling jokes, fishing, camping, playing sports, playing cards, spending winters in Mexico and skills on the dance floor.

His children will miss the days of playing 500 up and Bocce ball during the many camping trips.

He enjoyed serving the community as an Alderman in the Coldstream and Regional District, volunteer Fireman in the BX and Lavington Hall as well as being part of Kinsmen club.

He was married to Flora for 59 years. Together they had three children. Christopher (wife Colleen), Nicole (Derek) and Dionne (Heath) and became a second Dad to Alison (Rob). Ten wonderful Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren

He lived for 55 years in the Vernon area.

There will be no service at this time.

His family and friends will always remember his humour and infectious laugh.
