Alvan Manley Jacobs

January 14, 1948 - August 3, 2019
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alvan Manley Jacobs. Alvan passed peacefully on August 3, 2018, surrounded by his family, at the Vernon Hospice House.
Alvan was born on January 14, 1948 in Kincaid Saskatchewan. When he was 2 years old his family moved to Elkhorn, Manitoba. The family farm is where he learnt many valuable lessons. Alvan loved the farm life and had many wonderful memories. In 1959 Alvan committed his life to Christ. His life embodied the example of Christ and his faith was strong until he was called home. When Alvan was 16 years old he left the farm and moved to Vancouver, BC where he met the love of his life Trish. They were married in March 1969 and lived in Elkhorn MB, Swift Current SK and North Delta BC before settling in Vernon BC in 1983. In 1993 Alvan started his own business venture. Alvan will forever be known as the Office Doc!
Alvan is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Trish, his children Todd (Cheryl) and Tanya (Trevor), daughter in law Melissa and grandchildren Kylie, Kaitlyn, Wyatt, Emma, Olivia, Austin, Ava and Kai. He is also survived by 5 brothers Gordon, Ron, Ralph, Jim, Allan and 2 sisters, Maxine and Yvonne. Alvan was predeceased by his parents Manley and Grace Jacobs, and son Travis in 2015.
The family would like to thank the staff at Vernon Hospice House for their wonderful care.
A memorial service will be held in Vernon, BC at the Grace Bible Church, 5661 Silver Star Road, on Tuesday August 20, 2019 at 2 pm.
