It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anne Elizabeth Cantrell (nee Klein) who passed away peacefully on July 24th, 2018 at Vernon Jubilee Hospital, at age 84.
Anne was born in 1933 in Webster, Alberta, to Fredrick and Augusta Klein. She was the youngest of 13 children. Although she lived in many places through her life, Vernon was home since 1974.
Anne worked in the restaurant industry as a server in many notable outlets including the National Hotel, the Coldstream Hotel and Kiki Gardens - which was her favourite workplace. Even years after Anne retired, former patrons of Kiki Gardens would fondly remember Anne as part of their social history.
Anne Cantrell is predeceased by her mother and father, 10 siblings, and sons Randy Cantrell and Perry Ackeral. She is survived by her sister Leona Gowalko of Vernon, and brother Ernie Klein of Dawson Creek. She leaves behind sons Danny Ackeral (Gladys), Rick Ackeral, and Kelly Ackeral (Nancy), as well as grandchildren Jacob, Hannah, Kevin, Kane and Brandi, and great granddaughter Aleeyah.
