It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Anne Morris. Anne is survived by her sons, Kevin (Carol), Brent, Randall (Irene), her grandchildren Jill (Chris), Eric, Jacqui, Kathryn and great granddaughter Michaela.
As Anne was the last of nine siblings, she is also mourned by her nieces, nephews and extended family in Alberta.
Anne was born in Lac Bellevue, Alberta and spent her early years on the family farm before moving to BC, where she lived for the rest of her life. She arrived in Vernon 37 years ago, settled in and saw no need to consider living anywhere else. Anne was active in the Singles Club early in her time in Vernon and also took up five pin bowling. She enjoyed the senior bowlers at Lincoln Lanes and particularly the road trips to other bowling lanes in the Okanagan and Kootenays.
Anne enjoyed daily walks for as long as she could manage and covered hundreds of kilometres in her neighbourhood and surrounding area. She liked to get out in her community and see what was going on. Anne loved to garden and took great pride in her flower beds and vegetable patch. Few things made her happier than giving away her tomatoes and cucumbers to the Mission or the ladies at the bank. Anne was an avid Canucks fan and enjoyed cheering them on through the winter months.
Whether it was doing little home improvements, taking bus trips to Reno or visiting family in Australia, Anne was resourceful in getting things done. As every family member knows well, Mom did it her way. She understood what was important in life, had great empathy for the less fortunate and her determination took her a long way.
Anne passed away at Vernon Jubilee Hospital. In keeping with Mom's wishes no service will take place.
Mom, may you rest in peace.
