Tight Lines My Friend, tight lines
Born in Didsbury, Alberta, to hard-working farming parents Arnold flourished as one of 9 children. The family moved early in Arnold's life to Cloverdale, continuing the farming tradition. He met the love of his life and married Laurene in 1962 and they soon had a son, Alan. Doug was quick on Alan's heels and a family was created. Oh the adventures this cast had, Arnold charged headlong at the world and took his family along on quite a ride.
Today we say so long to Arnold Honey, a friend to all he knew. His journey took him to all corners of our province, he scaled mountains, navigated coastal waters, and explored far and wide. He was one of the lucky ones, finding a passion for taxidermy, something he enjoyed far beyond retirement. He and Laurene found great joy in their final house in Vernon, a place they called Home. Always happiest in the company of family and friends, from his hats to his jokes, Arnold greeted the world with a happy heart and a twinkle in his eye. He will be missed by those he left behind.
Tip-up Arnold and keep the jokes clean (ish).
A celebration of life is planned for Saturday, June 10 at 1 p.m. Schubert Centre 3505 30th Ave. Vernon. (More parking across the street).
