In Loving Memory ~

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Barbara Lynne Whiskin, "Lynne", on February 13, 2024 at the age of 66. Lynne bore her ALS illness with courage, strength, and grace. And in the end Lynne was able to leave on her own terms using MAID.

Lynne is survived by her loving husband John Palmer, brother Rob, nephew Conner (Kalista) Harper and Emory, niece Megan.

She is predeceased by her loving parents Bill and Barbara Whiskin.

Lynne was an accomplished pianist, graduating with a degree in music from UBC. She taught in the Vernon area for 28 years. Many children were blessed to have her calm, patient, and caring guidance.

Lynne loved everything about summer. She enjoyed kayaking trips on the West Coast and sailing her Laser on Okanagan Lake. In the summer off-season, Lynne took every opportunity to hike and ski in the mountains with friends, and deeply appreciated nature in all its fine detail. When Lynne wasn't out playing, she jumped at any opportunity to travel around the world.

Lynne was a devoted caring daughter to her parents and a kind and caring friend to all. Right up to the day we said goodbye, Lynne never let a conversation end without making sure she had asked questions about you.

We will remember her with joy and love and keep her forever in our hearts.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes can be made to Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Society of British Columbia, Email: info@alsbc.ca
