We regret to announce the passing of Betty Kikuyo Hiscock (nee Teramura) on November 14, 2019 in Vernon Jubilee Hospital.
Betty was born in Winfield, BC on October 11, 1949. She was predeceased by her parents Tomechiyo (nee Hikida) and Riyomon Teramura, husband Edwin (Ted) Hiscock, and brother-in-law Kiyoshi Ohashi.
Betty is survived by two sons, Chris (Kristal) and Derric Hiscock of Vernon. daughter Nikki (Sam) Louis, granddaughters Katherine, Alexis and Grace Louis of Vernon, as well as step-sons Donald Hiscock and Ronald (Mindy) Hiscock and grandson Sean, all of the lower mainland. She is also survived by sister Ruby Ohashi of Vernon, and brothers Roy (Margaret) Teramura of Winfield, and Harry (Jeannine) Teramura of Maple Ridge, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Betty was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She was a food court attendant at the Village Green mall for many years, and liked reading, puzzles and working in her garden.
Cremation preceded the service, which will be held on Thursday, December 12th at 1 pm at Japanese Cultural Society, 4895 Bella Vista Road, Vernon, BC.
