Brigitte passed away peacefully in the early hours of May 20, 2020 at the North Okanagan Hospice House at the age of 93. Brigitte was born on April 11, 1927 to Heinrich and Carolina Andes in Malinen, Poland, and together they immigrated to Canada. She married Oscar Carl Wittal on December 26, 1949 in Vancouver and they made their home in Richmond for over 50 years.
Raising a family on the farm, along with her love and talent for designing and sewing her own clothes, kept Brigitte busy. Brigitte was an amazing cook, delighting many with her Christmas baking. She loved harvesting and canning her bountiful blueberries, as well as the garden produce. Life on a farm allowed her to enjoy another of her passions, hatching chicks, ducklings and goslings. Flowers were such a joy for Brigitte.
Family meant everything to Brigitte, she is survived by, son Gerald (Gary), daughter Vivian, son in law Wilson Davidson, grandson Devan (Lecara), and Reid (Joni). Her great-grandchildren, Chloe (age 12), Owen (age 10), Beckett (age 5), Emmett (age 1) gave her such pleasure.
Always a force to be reckoned with, her incredible sense of style, spirit and energy will be remembered and missed.
