It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bruce Shumay on January 9,2022.
Bruce will be missed by his sister Karen Deans; his nieces and nephews Alfie Deans, Jennifer Jebb (Jay), Andrew Deans, Ryan Staicue (Jessica), & Corey Staicue; his great-nieces and nephews Jordyn Deans, Joshua Deans, Aiden Staicue & Ashton Staicue; as well as his many aunts, uncles, cousins; and friends made along the way.
Bruce was predeceased by his father and mother, Dan and Margaret Shumay; his sister Cynthia Staicue; and his brother Jeff Shumay.
Bruce was born in Vernon, BC, and was raised on the Farm in Oyama, BC. He then moved to Kelowna, BC for many years, and spent the last five years at The Hamlets at Vernon. He had a rare love for life, and lived it to his fullest.
Bruce will be remembered for his unwavering positivity, sense of humour, and his ability to see the bright side of anything. He will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
Bruce's family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, and caregivers who have been involved with his care over the years, especially those at The Hamlets at Vernon.
