CHARLIE SIHLIS
We regret to announce the death at the Gateby in Vernon on October 22, 2002, of CHARLIE SIHLIS, at the age of 88 years. Charlie was a resident of the Lumby-Cherryville area for over 50 years, and was the first Regional Director for Area E. He was very active in many facets of community life for many years. Charlie was predeceased by his son, John, and brothers John and Arnold and sister Annie. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years, Joyce; daughter Marilyn (Ernest) Laviolette of Cherryville; and daughter-in-law Rosalina Sihlis of Revelstoke. He is also survived by grandchildren: Heidi (Tom) Hofer of Purple Springs, Alberta, Lee Laviolette of Cherryville, and Nathaniel, Morley, and Royce Sihlis all of Revelstoke. Charlie is further survived by sisters Irma Schneider and Lorraine Popove in Alberta and numerous extended family members. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 28, at 1:00 P.M., in the chapel of Vernon Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Lumby Cemetery.
