Connie was a longtime resident of Vernon BC. Born here, she lived a full and graceful life as a child, young adult, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, baker, telephone operator, union representative, and community volunteer. She could dance and leg wrestle with the best of them.
She is predeceased by her loving husband, Edgar and eldest son, Donald. Don loved it when Mom referred to Dad as the Old Goat and Mom was Dad's Big Doll.
Connie is survived by her sister, Olive Green and four sons: Edgar (wife Tracy), David (wife Carol), Michael (wife Janet), and Roger (wife Denise), who all so admired
their Mother and Mother-in-law who was a strong woman of valor. All Connie's daughters-in-law earned a special place in her heart and her nieces and nephews brought her joy on so many occasions.
Her lesson to treat others as you would prefer to be treated yourself lives on in her ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Connie was comforted by the loving care at Gateby and her family is forever grateful to the compassionate doctors, nurses, and staff on the second floor and at the Centre.
A memorial service is planned for 2:00pm Oct 6th at Schubert Center 3505-30th Ave, Vernon, BC. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Cerebral Palsy Association of B. C. would be meaningful.
