David (Dave) was born to Margaret and Andrew Lannon on February 16, 1934 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Dave passed away peacefully at home with his sons by his side late in the evening of September 26, 2016.

Dave started his adventures at a young age, travelling west from Manitoba through the prairies, up to the Yukon and down through BC. He worked in Vancouver for Wolfe Chevrolet-Oldsmobile as a salesman for the bulk of his career. He lived many places around the southern interior and the lower mainland until settling in Vernon for the last 13 years. He lived the last six months with his son Cliff and Cliff’s family, joined soon after by his son Darren. It was wonderful to have the time with him before his illness took him.

Dave had a dry sense of humour and a quick wit. He loved to sit with his family on the deck, dogs at his feet and sipping on his glass of wine. He was a demure, well dressed and well-groomed at all times kind of fellow, and yet he had many tattoos from the adventures of his younger days. He laughed and laughed when his youngest granddaughter Georgia would point to his risqué arm tattoo telling him “to put some clothes on that woman Grandpa!”

Dave loved his children Darren, Tracy and Cliff. He adored his grandkids Rhys, Myles, Lara, Kirstie, Andrew and Georgia. He never forgot a birthday or Christmas and he was always happy with the leftovers to go. He was quick to bring back the Tupperware – for a refill – it was our joke.

Dave is survived by his brother Walter of Penticton, sons Darren and Clifford (Sue), daughter Tracy and his six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In respecting his wishes there will be no formal service but a small family gathering. We, the family, want to thank Dr. Lepage, the Palliative Care Team One (he loved that he was on the number one team). Especially Elizabeth and Patty and the care aides, OT, and Red Cross volunteers at the equipment loan program.

Grandpa, you were loved and will be dearly missed.
