1949 - 2016
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis Robert Gatzke on July 9th, 2016 at the North Okanagan Hospice Society while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Vernon, BC on September 11th, 1949 and was the youngest son of the late Fred and Olga Gatzke. Dennis was a beloved husband, father, papa, brother, uncle and friend. Dennis is survived by his loving wife Cindy (Rouck) to whom he was married 44 years, his sons Nathan and Rylan, daughter-in-law Sarah and his precious gifts grandchildren Gia and Luca, brothers George, Ron (Loretta), nephews, extended family and friends. Dennis lived, worked and played all his life in Lumby and Cherryville. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, support staff and volunteers at the Vernon Cancer Clinic and North Okanagan Hospice Society.
A special thanks and hugs to family and friends for their concern, love and support through a very challenging journey. No formal service by request. Family and friends are invited to the family home in Cherryville for a Celebration of Dennis’ life from 1:00 - 4:00 pm on July 24th, 2016.
